SEEMN Year 4
My journey in SEEM has been both fulfilling and inspiring. I deeply appreciate the dedication of our professors, who are not only rigorous in their teaching but also genuinely supportive and approachable. The SEEM programm offers a diverse range of courses, such as decision analytics, supply chain management, quality control, service management, and information system design, allowing students to tailor their learning to their career aspirations and interests. This multidisciplinary curriculum has provided me with a strong foundation in both technical and business knowledge while enhancing my problem-solving and analytical skills. I particularly value SEEM’s emphasis on applying theories to real-world scenarios, which has helped me develop critical thinking and practical skills.

SEEMN Year 2
Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (SEEM) is a relatively chill major that induces significantly less hair loss than other IT majors. It strikes a nice balance between IT and managerial knowledge. With a blend of programming, optimization, data analytics, logistics, etc., it provides a flexible tool kit for one to work with compared to more technical majors. SEEM fosters adaptability and emphasizes systematic thinking.
Yet, this might mean that SEEM is a little weaker than other majors in terms of depth of knowledge, and one might need to do additional self-learning if one wants their technical skills to be as sharp as those of other majors. Hackathons, competitions, or personal projects will be good practices for sharpening your skills.
SEEM’s balance makes it ideal for students seeking leadership or cross-functional careers, where a comprehensive understanding of both IT and managerial knowledge provides an edge that pure IT fields can’t give.
